  38. Certifi: Python SSL Certificates
  39. ================================
  40. Certifi provides Mozilla's carefully curated collection of Root Certificates for
  41. validating the trustworthiness of SSL certificates while verifying the identity
  42. of TLS hosts. It has been extracted from the `Requests`_ project.
  43. Installation
  44. ------------
  45. ``certifi`` is available on PyPI. Simply install it with ``pip``::
  46. $ pip install certifi
  47. Usage
  48. -----
  49. To reference the installed certificate authority (CA) bundle, you can use the
  50. built-in function::
  51. >>> import certifi
  52. >>> certifi.where()
  53. '/usr/local/lib/python3.7/site-packages/certifi/cacert.pem'
  54. Or from the command line::
  55. $ python -m certifi
  56. /usr/local/lib/python3.7/site-packages/certifi/cacert.pem
  57. Enjoy!

  59. Addition/Removal of Certificates
  60. --------------------------------
  61. Certifi does not support any addition/removal or other modification of the
  62. CA trust store content. This project is intended to provide a reliable and
  63. highly portable root of trust to python deployments. Look to upstream projects
  64. for methods to use alternate trust.
